UNIDO participated in a workshop to promote food certification as a tool for the internationalization

Rome, October 6th 2011. UNIDO ITPO Italy participated in the workshop "Certification: from food safety to religious conformity Halal - Food internationalization and integration tool", organized by TÜV Italia and A.I.A.

UNIDO ITPO Italy’s speech, with the goal of spurring the Millennium Development Goals, focused on food safety and food security issues, as important tools for development and global market inclusion, highlighting the key-role of packaging technologies and traceability systems.

TUV and AIA expressed appreciations towards UNIDO ITPO Italy for its commitment to promote and disseminate between the local entrepreneurial network the importance of shifting onto food safety and food security best practices and technologies.

Diplomatic representations of various African countries such as Egypt, Gabon, Eritrea, Zimbabwe and Lesotho participated to the meeting.
