Verona, May 11th. An entrepreneurial delegation from DCs successfully attended the 13th edition of Solarexpo. The major trade-exhibition has provided the UNIDO ITPO Italy’s delegation with an overview on the technological innovations in the sector of the renewable energies, with a particular focus on the photovoltaic technologies.
Delegates from Morocco, Egypt, Cameroon, Senegal, Lebanon, and Armenia, along with the Ambassadors of Ghana and the Ivory Coast, had the chance to meet the key players of the photovoltaic sector, in order to offer and sponsor their requests and projects. The major goal of the initiative is the increasing involvement of Italian industrial technology into the development process of the mentioned countries.
Within these premises, UNIDO organized for its delegates more than 200 BtoB meetings with the major actors of the exposition, at the end of which, both parties have expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction for the brilliant outcomes, in terms of both long term agreements and short term proposals. Furthermore, the photovoltaic sector raised great interest and curiosity, especially with regard to modules and cells, but also to solar water-heating systems.
This initiative was organized within the “Environment and Energy Programme” framework, developed in collaboration with the Italian Ministry for Environment, Territory and Sea. Its aim is to contribute to the sustainable industrial growth of developing countries, through the involvement of the private sector into the realization of eco-friendly and energetically-efficient projects.
