Rome, April 18th 2012. UNIDO ITPO Italy participated at the conference entitled “Renewables 2.0. How the renewable energy sector changes: new plays, new players”.
The objective of the meeting was to analyse the renewable energy sector in Italy and offer, to the actors and institutions in the field, an occasion to compare each other with the energy choices that the country will endorse during the next months, also in view of the issuance of new electricity decrees.
This conference was for UNIDO a precious opportunity to comprehend the dynamics that regulate the Italian renewable energy scene and the various entrepreneurial prospects that are being formed for the future. Of particular interest was the contribution by Prof. Gilardoni from Bocconi University, President of the International Observatory on the Renewables' Industry and Finance, that underlined the necessity of individuating new investment opportunities in the industrial chain of renewable energies at an international level, most of all in light of the energy needs present in developing countries.
Within this context, UNIDO can play an important role: bringing forward specific development programmes, in fact, the Organisation promotes industrial partnerships in this sector, through the amelioration of technological and qualitative standards and capacity building activities, with the aim of favouring sustainable industrial development and international cooperation between enterprises.
