Mazara del Vallo, June 10th 2012. UNIDO ITPO Italy participated in Slow Sea Land, an event for the valorization of the fishing and of the agro-food production of Mediterranean Area, in order to promote the activities pursued to support the fishing industry in Developing Countries. Thanks to the UNIDO I.T.P.O. Italy’s support, among the exhibitors from DCs, the Investment Promotion Centre (CPI) of Mozambique presented investment opportunities in the country’s agri-business sector. This initiative was also an opportunity to establish relationships with several institutions from Developing Countries, such as the Tunisian Agriculture and Fisheries Union and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishery of the Republic of Congo.
In concomitance with this event, promoted by ICE and organized by Slow Food together with the Fishing Productive District, the Forum on Fishing in the Mediterranean will take place too. The event includes a number of technical-scientific, cultural and informative meetings and conferences, aimed at fostering development cooperation projects. Among the initiatives, there will be the presentation of the Annual Fishing and Aquiculture in the Mediterranean Report, a specific session dedicated to the Blue Economy, and a convention on the role of productive districts and agro-food chains in the Mediterranean Area as a model of economic and social development.
