Award Regulation

The submitted proposal must meet the following requirements:

  • Description of the project: in A4 format, it must contain a maximum of 18,000 characters (spaces included), in PDF format; Arial font; size 12; single line spacing. The text must be sent in digital format.
  • Plans and images: the plans, files with PDF extension, the images, files with JPEG extension, PDF, resolution 300 DPI.
  • Images: 5 images  must be submitted that reflect the characteristics of the project in synthetic form. The dimensions will be 100cm high and 70cm wide and must be respected.

RECEPTION OF PROPOSAL

The projects will  be received from July 15th  to September 30th  15, 2019, in digital format (https://www.unido.it/heritage4cuba/registration.php). The system automatically generates the registration number.

ASSESSMENT

The jury will examine the submitted projects and, after selecting the best proposals will proceed, with an appealable judgment, to the selection of the winners. All applicants  will receive a certificate of participation.

In the evaluation of the presented projects, particular consideration will be given to the innovative elements related to conservation, reuse and valorisation of  the historical buildings and to the urban and territorial context.

The evaluation will take into consideration the following elements:

  • the socio-economic  reuse of the existing building;
  • the contextualization of the project and urban impact
  • integration between the urbanistic forecasts and the architectural project;
  • the economic, environmental and social impact of the project
  • the innovative component of the project's proposal

Accordently with the criteria defined in the present competition, the jury will motivate the winners's selection. The motivations will be read during the award ceremony.

The award ceremony will take place in Trieste, December 17th  2019.

The winners will be rewarded by the organizers with a certificate of merit.

The competition implies the unconditional acceptance of this regulation.

Participation to the initiative is free of charge.
