Within the framework of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq — Phase II” (#IPI), funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by UNIDO, on 1st June 2022 UNIDO ITPO Italy was invited to virtually take part in the “International Conference for Pure and Applied Sciences” organized by the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) of Nassiriah, Thi Qar, together with the Iraqi Federation of Chamber of Commerce (IFCC).

The conference started with the welcome remarks of the Presidents of NUST, the IFCC and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, immediately followed by the inaugural session opening with the keynote speech of UNIDO ITPO Italy’s Investment Promotion Expert Mr. Andrea Carapellese, titled “UNIDO role in supporting the renewable and clean energy projects” and followed by more than 250 participants among researchers, SMEs, associations, chambers of commerce, public institutions, students and NGOs.

The well-appreciated participation of UNIDO ITPO Italy in the event also paves the way to a fruitful collaboration between the private and academic sector in the research and implementation of technological solutions in the field of renewable energies.
