UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the 2022 edition of EIMA — the International Agricultural and Gardening Machinery Exhibition, held from 9th to 13th November 2022 in Bologna, Italy — by assisting the participation in the event of a business delegation from Somalia and Iraq.

Thanks to the support of UNIDO ITPO Italy, the 2 Somali companies took part in around 50 B2B meetings, while the Iraqi delegation took part in more than 200 B2B meetings between EIMA and Ecomondo, facilitating networking and matchmaking opportunities in the field of agricultural mechanization, towards an inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

The initiative — organized with the support of ICE Amman and ICE Addis Ababa — was part of two projects implemented by UNIDO: “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II” (IPI), with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS); and “Productive Sectors Development Programme for Somalia” (PSDP), with the support of AICS, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF).
