On Sunday 31st March 2024, the UNIDO Enterprise Development Center (EDC) in Basra held an educational training course for the students of the Sidrat Almuntaha school.

Notably featuring the participation of around 40 female students, the training was aimed at building their capacity, promoting women empowerment and thus shaping the next generation of tomorrow in Iraq based on quality education and gender equality, in line with UNIDO's mandate and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, and in particular with SDG 4 and SDG 5. 

This initiative was part of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
