Expo 2020 Dubai was held from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022, launching the celebrations for the country’s Golden Jubilee; it will also be the departure point to build a sustainable and progressive vision for the forthcoming decades.

The theme chosen for Expo 2020 Dubai is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, and it recalls the spirit of cooperation that has led the United Arab Emirates to succeed in the exploration of new pathways of development and innovation. Expo 2020 was a catalyst in this sense, connecting the minds of the entire world and inspiring the participants to take action and meet shared future challenges.

Expo 2020 Dubai identified three subthemes around which the global community gathered to sign new collaborations, in order to find solutions to essential matters and leave the mark of a strong, social and economic cooperation around the world. These subthemes were:

  • Opportunityinspire and empower people and youths to unlock their full potential
  • Sustainability: the need to preserve the planet we inhabit by embracing alternative, clean and renewable sources of energies
  • Mobility: enabling a smarter movement of people, ideas, knowledge and goods towards new frontiers

In order to unleash the potential of emerging markets, Expo 2020 Dubai fostered the strengthening of the private sector in Africa, South Asia and the Middle East, taking advantage of the UAE strategic infrastructure and geographical position and its pivotal role in enabling international trade.
