UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the First Italian Conference on Development Cooperation

Rome, 24-25 January 2018Within the framework of the collaboration with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in COOPERA, the first National Conference that brought together all the stakeholders of the International Cooperation, such as Institutions, academics, private sector and International Organizations.

The Conference was enriched by several important personalities such as the Italian President of the Council of Ministers, H.E. Paolo Gentiloni, the President of the Central African Republic, H.E. Faustin-Archange Touadéra and the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Angelino Alfano. With the aim of spreading the main scopes and results of the Italian Cooperation, some topics were analyzed, such as “The role of the private stakeholders and new partnerships for decent jobs and sustainable development”, the role of Youth, the international migrations, the importance of communication and “the challenges of social, environmental and economic sustainability in the development prospective”.

Following these topics, five ad hoc round tables were organized, namely on Youth, Communication, Migration, Sustainable Development and the Role of the private sector in international cooperation. ITPO Italy was invited to join to the last one with the aim of giving a short insight on the office’s activities and vision to the almost 100 attendees among entrepreneurs, development agencies, specialized governmental bodies, associations and NGOs.

The active presence of ITPO Italy represented an important occasion to confirm and show the great commitment of the office on the sustainable growth in developing countries in line with the efforts of the other players working with the Italian Development Cooperation.
