Rome, Italy - 17 April 2018
Rome, 17 April 2018 - In the framework of the regular collaboration with foreign organizations and UNIDO’s relevant stakeholders, UNIDO ITPO Italy hosted a delegation from the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on 17 April 2018 in its premises.
The Pakistani delegation was composed by more than 20 delegates among senior officers, members of the Chamber executive committee and company managers. The LCCI is an extremely active institution which serves the business community of Lahore by providing business opportunities to its members. Its function is also to promote investment opportunities and local capacities through programs of technical exchanges and international cooperation to support Lahore and Pakistan’s economic and social development.
During his address the Senior Vice President of LCCI, Mr. Khawaja Khawar Rashid, pointed out the multiple industrial sectors represented in the framework of the Chamber. Besides, he underlined the numerous investment opportunities existing for Italian technology providers and investors within the dynamic context of Lahore. Finally, he expressed his satisfaction for the efficient and promising collaboration established with UNIDO ITPO Italy.
The scope of the visit, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan in Italy, was to learn about our office activity and methodology, in addition to collect information from the experiences and best practices implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy in its effort to promote the achievement of inclusive and sustainable development contributing to the industrial development of developing countries and countries with economies in transition.
