Milan - April 16th 2018
Rome, 16 April 2018 - As part of its mandate, UNIDO ITPO Italy assisted a delegation of Croce Rossa Italiana at the exhibition event organized by Interni magazine to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of its debut at FuoriSalone.
In particular, UNIDO ITPO Italy supported the meeting with Dmeco Engineering srl, a company from Puglia region specialized in the manufacture of containers for soundproofing. In the framework of Fuorisalone, Dmeco set up an experimental installation designed in collaboration with the architect Piero Lissoni and the Lissoni associate study. The installation envisages the assembly of twelve overlapping containers as a vertical sculpture, suggesting an abstract concept of habitation, with the intense colors of the Haitian houses.
UNIDO ITPO Italy considered the mobile container project created by Dmeco Engineering as a great solution for an ongoing program in the region of Haiti, which would consider the construction of boxes for the local communities, but also adaptable to other developing countries for different purposes (e.g. field hospital, recovery, etc.).
Croce Rossa Italiana showed interest for the technology created by Dmeco, paving the way for further collaborations and applications in the medical-health field.
