New York, 30 november 2018. Build on the outcomes of the annual "BRIDGE for Cities" event, UNIDO organized during the #GSSD2018 Global South-South Development Expo 2018 at the United Nations headquarter in New York a thematic solution forum entitled: “South-South and Triangular cooperation in promoting Green Growth and Sustainable Cities -Sustainable Urban-Industrial”.

In this session, representatives from FVG Region, Central European Initiative and Port of Trieste - facilitated by UNIDO ITPO Italy - illustrated their lessons learned with regard to their urban development focus: urban-port-industrial symbiosis in Trieste's efforts towards becoming a sustainable city.

The Bridge for Cities initiative promotes the implementation of the 2030 Agenda via the Belt and Road Initiative, with which it shares many similarities, in all participating countries. It offers municipal stakeholders, like Trieste, an international platform to share and exchange ideas for the advancement of inclusive and sustainable urban and industrial development in cities along the Belt and Road and beyond.
