Roundtable EIMA with UNIDO Somalia, EDUs and Federunacoma

In the framework of the project “Agro-technology development for economic growth in South and Central Somalia”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by UNIDO, on 2nd February ITPO Italy and the Office in Somalia organized an online roundtable in collaboration with Federunacoma, with the goal of presenting the EIMA exhibition to the local coordinators of the Entrepreneurship Development Units (EDUs) established by UNIDO in Kismayo, Mogadishu, Baidoa and Beletwayn. 

Moderated by UNIDO ITPO Italy Investment Promotion Expert Mr. Francesco Pallocca, the event started with the opening remarks of UNIDO Industrial Development Expert & Officer in Charge to Somalia, Mr. Ygor Scarcia. The discussion featured the intervention of Mr. Fabio Ricci, Vice Director General at Federunacoma, introducing the EIMA exhibition as the leading fair in Italy in the agriculture machinery sector, as well as the presentation of EDU coordinators Ms. Najma Nur, Mr. Ahmed Mahadalle, Mr. Abdisalan Salat, Mr. Hussein Abdi and Ms. Amal Abdullahi Ahmed, discussing local needs in terms of agricultural machineries.

The event successfully provided a platform facilitating knowledge exchange and fostering business opportunities, and it is the first in a series of activities aimed at promoting international partnerships in the field of agriculture machineries, as well as irrigation and harvesting equipment.
