In collaboration with UNIDO Somalia, UNIDO ITPO Italy facilitated the participation of 5 selected Somali companies operating in the fishery sector at the Digital Seafood Meeting, organized by Fish International, Messe Bremen and Enterprise Europe Network and held online on 21 April 2021.

With more than 300 participants, the matchmaking platform was dedicated to international stakeholders in the fishery sector - such as importers, retailers and distributors - interested in both products and technologies, from fishing tools and boats to cold chain and fish processing.

In this framework, the Somali companies - Jubaland Ocean Resources Enterprise, Al-khayrat Fishing Company, Sahan Seafood Company, Billan Fishing Company, and Somali Marine Products - had the opportunity to discover new solutions for the export of fishery products and access to market, as well as innovative small-scale technologies for local cold chain systems and acquaculture.
