COMFAR Training with Cuba - 1st Session

On 7 June 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy started a 10-day training course dedicated to 21 government staff in Cuba about COMFAR, a software developed by UNIDO for project formulation and appraisal.

COMFAR (Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting) is an internationally-accepted tool which facilitates the fast computation of financial statements needed for economic appraisal of investment projects. COMFAR can be used for small to large scale projects, expansion, rehabilitation and modernization of existing enterprises and joint ventures.

UNIDO ITPO Italy is supporting the Cuban government to launch an effective one-stop window for investment in Cuba, in order to reduce the time for both foreign and local investors to set up a business in the country. The government intends to recognize only the investment analysis carried out through the COMFAR, which will be installed in each and every province of Cuba in order to facilitate the evaluation of investment proposals.

This training is conducted in the framework of the project “Capacity Building on Investment for Cuban Government”, implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy with the financial support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, with the aim to support the Cuban government in upgrading managerial skills and capabilities of entrepreneurs, administrators and government staff involved in implementing and supporting investment projects in the country.
