On 22 July 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy Head Diana Battaggia met with H.E. Samuel Otsile Outlule, Ambassador of Botswana to Italy based in Belgium to present the project "Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors" (FIPEE) and illustrate its forthcoming activities to be implemented in the African country focused on energy and environment to discuss possible synergies.

Ambassador Outlule stressed the importance of green innovations and renewable energy technologies for his country, and how the cooperation with UNIDO ITPO Italy is significant for the development of the private and public sectors in Botswana.

Botswana is one of the target countries of the FIPEE project - implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy and funded by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition - which is aimed at identifying and developing high-impact innovations and investment projects in the sustainable energy and environment sector, as well as at facilitating investment, commercialization and trade opportunities through international partnerships and collaboration among the project countries.
