In the framework of the project “Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” (FIPEE) funded by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition, on 3rd August 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy arranged a virtual site visit to present the biogas plant installed by the Italian company BST Srl to Wanergy Africa Ltd, a Kenyan company operating in the field of waste-to-energy and waste management.

With the support of digital tools, the virtual tour was aimed at showcasing the Made-in-Italy customized solutions and technologies offered by BST, a leading company specialized in the design, construction and management of anaerobic digestion systems in stainless steel producing up to 500kWh biogas energy from animal waste.

During the site visit, CEO and founder of Wanergy Ms. Junnie Rose Wangari had the possibility to virtually explore an operational biogas plant and learn how it runs, while CEO of BST Mr. Luigi Monfardini had the opportunity to present a company success case and explained how, according to local needs, the same plant system could be replicated and installed in Kenya as well.

In light of this tour and with the continuous support offered by UNIDO ITPO Italy, the two companies can now consider new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, fostering further collaborations between the private sector of Italy and Kenya.
