Organized in the framework of the EIMA International 2021 exhibition (held in Bologna, Italy from 19 to 23 October 2021), the conference "Somalia and Iraq - Business opportunities in the agriculture machineries sector" took place on Friday 22 October 2021.

The conference - which saw the participation as panelists of Mr. Fabio Ricci, Deputy Director General of FederUnacoma; Mr. Cesare Trevisani, Chairman of the Joint Italian Arab Chamber of Commerce (JIACC); and UNIDO ITPO Italy Ivestment Promotion Experts Mr. Andrea Carapellese and Mr. Francesco Pallocca - was aimed at deepening the existing opportunities in Somalia and Iraq in the field of agriculture machinery, in terms of local needs of technologies such as tractors, plows and other equipment, the discussion of dealership agreements, and other useful information to evaluate the penetration of these two emerging markets.

This initiative was organized in the framework of two UNIDO projects: “Agro-technology development for economic growth in South and Central Somalia” and “Investment Promotion for Iraq: Phase II”, both funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
