In the framework of the project "Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors" (FIPEE), on 12th November 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy held an online meeting with GAK, the Geothermal Association of Kenya.

The meeting - attended by UNIDO ITPO Italy's Investment Promotion Expert Ms. Ester Termperato and Special Advisor in Energy and Environment for Kenya Ms. Faith Okaalet, and  Mr. Mike Karanja, Geologist and Executive Officer of GAK - represented a useful occasion to introduce the FIPEE project, define potential synergies and plan future joint activities.

Kenya is the first country in Africa for geothermal energy, with the sector playing a key role for the development of renewable energies in the country and continent as well - with plenty of business opportunities for Italian companies in the field.
