On 16 November 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy arranged a meeting with several directors of the Fitotechnics Department of the National Agriculture University of La Molina (UNALM) and the participation of Mr. Andrea Pavia and Mr. Ernesto Rivera, UNIDO ITPO Italy Special Advisors in Energy and Environment respectively for Peru and for Cuba.

The goal of the meeting was to evaluate opportunities for collaboration in order to address the issue of salt intrusions in rice crops in Cuba. To this end, the Peruvian university was offered the opportunity to provide the Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba and other local public stakeholders involved with a technical collaboration.

This activity was organized within the framework of the project "Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors" (FIPEE) funded by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
