In the framework of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II” (IPI), UNIDO ITPO Italy concluded its first intensive course on Industrial Zones in Iraq.

This 10-week course was launched on 27 August 2021 and held remotely during these past three months on a weekly basis under the guidance of Mr. Jean-Paul Gauthier, Managing Director of Locus Economica.

Among its beneficiaries, in addition to several representatives of the High-Level Commission for Industrial Zones of the Iraqi Government and of the Kurdistan Region (KRG), the course also saw the participation of representatives from selected companies and private-sector associations, for a grand total of around 20 participants.

With great engagement and dynamic interactions, the course featured multiple learning modules specifically designed to increase know-how and capabilities of Iraqi Industrial Zones - including topics such as program development, laws and regulations, feasibility studies and investment promotion strategies. As a first follow-up, presentation meetings with the main international organizations operating in the field of Industrial Zones will now follow.
