Within the framework of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq: Phase II” (IPI) funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, on 3, 10 and 17 December 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy held its series of online presentations aimed at introducing three important international associations operating on matters related to industrial zones, trade and investment: WEPZA - World Export Processing Zones Association; World FZO - World Free Zones Organization; and FEMOZA - World Free and Special Economic Zones Federation.

Notably, each presentation featured the participation of 15-to-20 high-level representatives from the Iraqi Industrial Zones Commission, the Iraqi Federation of Industries, the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the Iraqi Provincial Investment Commissions, the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and the Iraqi Governorates involved. 

This initiative allowed to engage with a well-established international network composed of Iraqi stakeholders operating in the field of “Industrial Zones”, as well as to pave the way for the implementation of future activities, including ad-hoc educational and marketing training, exchange of best practices and know-how, and institutional networking.
