Within the framework of the IPI project “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II”, on 21 December 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy organized and facilitated a meeting between ABI — the Italian Bank Association — and the Iraq Private Banks League.

The meeting — attended by Mr. Pierfrancesco Gaggi, Head of International Relations at ABI, and Mr. Ali Tareq, Executive Director of the Iraqi Private Banks League — successfully allowed to strengthen institutional relations between the two organizations, with the goal of fostering a renewed commitment of Italian banks in Iraq for sustainable economic growth within the country.
