Acceleration Program for semifinalists of the FIPEE Call for High Impact Cleantech

The Acceleration Program of the “FIPEE Call for High Impact Cleantech” by UNIDO ITPO Italy was successfully carried out throughout the months of January and April 2022. 20 selected SMEs and startups from Botswana, Cuba, Ethiopia, Kenya and Peru had the opportunity to take part in business coaching and training activities to improve their business model and investment-readiness.

Delivered by Koestinger Consulting and SDG Innovation Lab, the course notably featured 6 Live-LABs (respectively focused on the subjects of Impact and Team, Business Modelling, Customer Validation, Minimum Viable Product and IPR Defensibility, Financial and Marketing Plan, and Pitching) as well as multiple special sessions with international mentors, entrepreneurs and top guests sharing their experience, success cases and best practices.

During the concluding Demo-Day on 20th April 2022, all SMEs and startups who attended the course delivered their best business pitch to the Jury Members of the Acceleration Program, who eventually selected the 5 winners of the FIPEE Call, one for each target country. The names of the winning cleantech projects will be disclosed and announced publicly on the occasion of the in-person Award Ceremony that will be organized by UNIDO ITPO Italy in the upcoming weeks.

The winners of the FIPEE Call will now also benefit from a series of promotional activities to be implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy, in order to further promote opportunities for business, networking and collaboration and accelerate Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development in the energy and environment sectors of several developing countries in Africa and Latin America.

This initiative was organized in the framework of the project “Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” (#FIPEE) funded by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
