On 21st March 2022 UNIDO ITPO Italy organized a meeting for representatives of Invest in Sharjah - the investment promotion agency for the third most important Emirate of the United Arab Emirates - and representatives of the Iraqi Commission Industrial Zones, the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and of the Government of Iraq. 

In this framework, Mr. Mawan Alichla – Director of Investment Promotions at Invest in Sharjah – delivered a detailed presentation about the mission and the structure of his entity, focusing the attention on their role in managing their dozens of local Free and Industrial Zones, to attest Sharjah as an innovative industrial hub and education hotspot. At the end of the presentation, UNIDO ITPO Italy arranged a participatory interactive session to share experiences and engage in networking activities, paving the way for future synergies in the interest of both institutions and countries involved.

This activity was organized as a part of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II” (#IPI), funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by UNIDO.
