Organized by UNIDO ITPO Italy (the Italian Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization), Eni Iraq B.V. and Eni Joule with the support of LVenture Group, the “Sustainable Agro-Energy in Iraq – #IPI Call for innovative entrepreneurship” is now open for applications!

The Call aims to identify, support, and promote innovation in the agriculture, energy and water sectors of Iraq, in order to contribute to social, economic and environmental development in the country and create a virtuous circle of connections among the private, academic, financial, and institutional ecosystems of Italy and Iraq – within the spirit of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II” (#IPI), funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by UNIDO.

Addressed to individual applications from Iraqi companies, SMEs, startups, university spin-offs, research centers and students from the area of Basra, the Call will start with the scouting and selection of 30 trainees, who will receive ad-hoc training to learn new entrepreneurial skills, improve their business models and increase investment-readiness thanks to an integrated approach.

During this 3-week training program, participants will develop innovative projects in the agritech, energy and water management sectors. After its conclusion, the best trainees selected will notably have the opportunity to further benefit from honest brokering, mentoring and advisory services through a series of promotional activities – as well as to take part in a business trip to Italy in the fall of 2022.
