Morocco: UNIDO ITPO Italy organizes Italian entrepreneurial delegation to Global Green Event by Pollutec

UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the 12th edition of the Global Green Event by Pollutec Maroc, held from 14th to 17th September 2022 in El Jadida, Morocco, by arranging and assisting on site the participation of selected Italian companies operating in the sector of environmental technologies and by meeting with several high-level Moroccan institutions and industry associations.

In this framework, at the Global Green Event UNIDO ITPO Italy Investment Promotion Expert Mr. Siepi and UNIDO Ms. Elliq facilitated over 40 B2B meetings for 3 Italian companies – Panizzolo (waste management), Sereco (waste water treatment) and Tesimag (water purification) – with local exhibitors at the fair, by boosting networking opportunities for matchmaking, investment promotion and technology transfer between Italy and Morocco. 

Notably, during the fair UNIDO ITPO Italy also met with the Minister of Energetic Transition and Sustainable Development of Morocco Ms. Benali, the Governor of the Province of El Jadida Mr. El Guerrouj, the Director General of Global Green Event Ms. Iguerwane, and many others: CEO of Serp Recyclage Maroc and President of the Federation of Recyclers, Collectors and Bargain Hunters in Morocco Ms. Sbiri; President of ISOTEC Cleaning Solutions Mr. Squalli Houssaini; COVAD President Mr. Elbari; Head of Non-Hazardous Waste Department of Ministry of EESD Ms. El Abed; Geocycle, international waste management company with a branch in Morocco; President of the Federation of Building Materials Industries Mr. Toledano; Director General of CETEMCO Mr. Bouanani; and Director General of AMEE Mr. Mouline, among others.

UNIDO ITPO Italy also visited the premises of the Chamber of Commerce of Casablanca (CCIS) in El Jadida to introduce Sereco and Ms. Castellaccio of Tesimag, both part of the UNIDO delegation at the fair, with the goal to profile Moroccan counterparts interested in potential collaborations, as well as to promote the Ecomondo fair to the CCIS Head of Support and Promotion Department Mr. Bacraoui.

Organized as a first in-person inception mission to the country after several online activities and with more follow-ups to come, this initiative was part of the project “Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” (#FIPEE) funded by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
