On Thursday 19th January 2023 UNIDO ITPO Italy joined “A twinning program between Jordanian and Italian businesses”, the event presenting the project “LevelUp - Advancing Jordanian Industries” — implemented by UNIDO in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply — with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, the Italian Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Polo Tecnologico Alto Adriatico.

«Today, Italy and Jordan are in fact two countries that are confronted with similar economic issues such as unemployment, the need to advance industries, and the urgency to create decent job opportunities for both women and youth, including through self-employment», UNIDO ITPO Italy Head Ms. Diana Battaggia commented during her opening remarks. «This project allows those who may not yet have the level of competency required to thrive in the international markets, to participate actively in the technical work of standards development, and thus seize the opportunity to gain specifically targeted experience to promote women and youth-led investments in the selected value chains».
