UNIDO ITPO Italy assisted its largest institutional and business delegation ever from Iraq and Somalia to the 2024 edition of KEY - The Energy Transition Expo, held in Rimini from 28th February to 1st March 2024.

25 delegates - among which the President and representatives of the Iraqi Federation of Industry (IFI) within the framework of the 2024 UNIDO ITPO Italy’s Delegate Programme, and the Director General of the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals (MIM) - took part in more than 200 B2B meetings with local exhibitors at the fair, fostering opportunities for investment and international partnerships in the renewable energy sector and beyond.

Furthermore, at the fair UNIDO ITPO Italy assisted His Excellency the Ambassador of Iraq to Italy Saywan Barzani and his meeting with the Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, and also took part as jury member in the award ceremony of the innovation award for startups by the National Association of Young Innovators (ANGI).

This initiative was organized within the framework of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II”, financed by the Italian Development Cooperation Agency (AICS) and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
