Italy - 26th February - 8th March 2024
UNIDO ITPO Italy’s 2024 Delegate Programme took place from 26th February to 8th March 2024 for the benefit of two representatives of the Iraqi Federation of Industries (IFI), namely Mr. Husham Abdullah Abdulzahra Al Naseri, IFI Member of Advisory Board, and Ms. Mahera Kassim Shaalan Alzuabidi, IFI Head of Planning and focal point for the project "Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II", financed by the Italian Development Cooperation Agency (AICS) and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
UNIDO’s Delegate Programme is a key tool to promote the Delegate’s country as a possible destination for Italian investments and technology transfer through the presentation of business opportunities and investment projects in the beneficiary country. During the Programme, Delegates have the chance to meet and interact with Italian public and private stakeholders to exchange knowledge and experiences in different strategic sectors and learn innovative best practices.
In this framework, on 26th February UNIDO ITPO Italy welcomed at its premises the Delegates — together with Mr. Adil Okab Hussein, IFI President, and Mr. Ammar Mohammed Majeed, IFI Member and Consultant for Plastic and Chemical Industries — for a first overview meeting, followed by a meeting at Confindustria later that day, and by company visits at Centro Agroalimentare di Roma (CAR) and The Hub LVenture Group on the 27th. On 28th and 29th February the Delegates attended the 2024 KEY - The Energy Transition Expo in Rimini, with company visits at Cermac - Consortium of Italian Producers of Technologies and Products for Agriculture, Agro-industry and Zootechnics - and ACMA with UCIMA in the Emilia-Romagna Region.
The second week of the Programme kicked off back in Rome with meetings at Tecnopolo Roma Tiburtino, Fattoria la Sonnina and Platatine. Finally, in Bari on 6th and 7th March, the Delegate visited CIHEAM Bari - Mediterranean Agronomic Institute, discussing precision agriculture, and Acquedotto Pugliese (AQP), also visiting its Acquaviva delle Fonti water sanitation plant and paving the way for potential further synergies. The Programme finally concluded on 8th March in Rome at UNIDO ITPO Italy for a wrap-up session.
