UNIDO ITPO Italy played an active role at the World Without Hunger Conference — co-organized by UNIDO, the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Government of Ethiopia, with technical assistance of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 5th to 7th November 2024 — by joining forces with UNIDO and its ITP Network and bringing a delegation of Italian private sector representatives, which actively engaged in networking activities and B2B meetings, exploring potential partnerships and sharing expertise in sustainable agriculture.

A highlight was the participation of the Italian startup Digital Soil supported by ITPO Italy in the conference’s Solutions Talks. The startup showcased its groundbreaking AI-based solutions designed to transform agricultural practices and driving sustainable food production. 

In addition, UNIDO ITPO Italy's Chief Technical Advisor Dino Fortunato spoke on the panel titled “Bridging Technology and Investment: The ITP Network’s Approach.” In his address, he outlined concrete solutions that ITPO Italy has implemented across Africa and the Middle East to tackle food insecurity. He emphasized the Office’s role in empowering agribusinesses in developing countries, highlighting its efforts to introduce innovative technologies, foster investment, and build capacity within local communities.

The WWHC reinforced UNIDO ITPO Italy’s commitment to supporting sustainable development in agribusiness through technology and investment partnerships, which contribute directly to food security solutions in regions most in need.
