On 5th November 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Iraqi Federation of Industries (IFI) and Confindustria, to enhance the cooperation between Iraq and Italy for increased investment and industrial development.

The signature ceremony was held in Rome at the premises of UNIDO ITPO Italy, notably at the presence of, among many other relevent guests, His Excellency Saywan Barzani, Ambassador of Iraq to Italy.

This IFI's mission to Italy kicked off with meetings at the European Institute of Innovation and Sustainability (EIIS) - expanding on their activities in Iraq, including the ongoing training and upcoming hackathon - and Zest Group toward potential new collaborations, and after the MoU with Confindustria was followed by the signature of another MoU with Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) during their participation in the 2024 Ecomondo fair.
