In the framework of its project “Twinning Partnership for Sustainable SME Development in Lebanon” funded by the Italian Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) Autonomous Region, from 3rd to 7th February 2025 UNIDO ITPO Italy supported the participation of a Lebanese delegation operating in the winemaking sector to the winter school held at and organized by its project partner the University of Udine.

The winter school provided the opportunity to foster know-how exchange between experts from Lebanon and the FVG Region on innovative and sustainable viticulture — addressing, among other topics, transformative adaptation from climate smart to climate resilient technologies, biotechnologies, mechanization, harvesting, and more.

After a concluding written examination, the in-class lessons were followed by multiple site visits to different winemaking companies in Udine, including Vigneti Pittaro, VCR in Rauscedo, Conte d’Attimis Manage, and Jermann-Antinori.
