From 22nd to 26th September 2025, UNIDO ITPO Italy led the business mission for a delegation of Italian innovators from the private-public sector and academia of the Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) Autonomous Region to Japan.

The mission included company visits to local innovation hubs as well as main stakeholders — including Expo 2025 Osaka, the University of Tokyo - Institute for Future Initiative, the Osaka Innovation Hub, the United Nation University (UNU), Yokohama Connect, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, the Italian Embassy in Japan, JETRO, Riken, and Shiga Law Firm — and featured company presentations, B2B and institutional meetings, and further networking activities.

Organized in the framework of the project “Innovation Gateway Trieste-Osaka”, funded by the FVG Autonomous Region, the initiative successfully allowed to foster business connections and public-private and academic collaborations between the innovation ecosystems of Italy and Japan.
