The Tunisian South Development Office met with UNIDO ITPO Italy

Find new synergies to support the development of small and medium enterprises and acquaint with UNIDO methodology: this was the goal of the meeting with Tunisia’s South Development Office (ODS) which took place in UNIDO ITPO Italy’s premises on March 25th 2014.

The ODS, in partnership with JICA team of experts, realized a Strategic Plan for South Development 2015-2035 which aims at the strategic and diversified development of Tunisia’s six Governorates (Médenine, Tataouine, Gabes, Kebili, Gafsa and Tozeur).

During the meeting, UNIDO introduced the Agency’s different activities, including aspects of technical assistance in benefit to Tunisia, and laid the foundations for future cooperation opportunities. Particularly, the UNIDO methodology for the identification and promotion of industrial projects was introduced, with a specific focus on feasibility studies tools such as COMFAR IV.

At the end of the presentation, ODS and UNIDO ITPO Italy agreed on future possible synergies to bring value add and strengthen Tunisian SMEs through a sustainable industrial support. These premises, at the heart of UNIDO ITPO Italy, are necessary to guarantee continuity and sustainability for the development of a country.
