Pakistan Country Presentation

Catania, 13 September 2016 - On September 13th took place the Pakistan Country presentation at the Catania Chamber of Commerce premises in Catania to present and discuss about the investment opportunities offered by the Asian Country. 

The initiative aimed to provide a detailed picture of the opportunities offered by Pakistan for investment activities in the industrial, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, and learn more about the potentials for supplying consumer market products. From UNIDO ITPO Italy, Mr. Dino Fortunato, Investment Promotion Expert, illustrated the activity that UNIDO is carrying in  the framework of the “Joint UNIDO-SMEDA-Italy Programme to establish an Investment Promotion Unit (IPU) in Lahore and to facilitate increased trade and investment between Italy and Pakistan.

The event was attended by leading figures from both Pakistan and Italian business community and institutions, including, Mr. Roberto Rizzo, President, President of Catania Chamber of Commerce; H.E. Mr. Nadeem Riaz, Ambassador of Pakistan in Italy, and Ms. Sara Ali, Trade Attaché from the Embassy of Pakistan in Italy.

On completion of the program, the Delegation from the Embassy of Pakistan and UNIDO ITPO Italy met Confindustria Catania and visited the STMicroelectronics, a world leader in providing semiconductor solutions. The company provides a range of technologies enabling manufacturing and other industrial sectors to achieve better efficiency, flexibility, and safety through automation and robotics “smart industry”.
