Rome, 15 February 2018 - UNIDO ITPO Italy supported Ethiopian Embassy representatives in their visit in Centro Agroalimentare Roma (C.A.R.), in order to explore potential joint synergies in view of the forthcoming Forum on agro-industry to be held in Addis Ababa in March.

C.A.R. is one of Europe's most important structures for the marketing of fruit, vegetables and fish products, putting together production, trade and distribution processes. Their participation in Ethiopian agro-industrial Forum could be a first step in the framework of a fruitful partnership with this African Country.

The visit was useful to deepen several aspects of Ethiopian economy, such as crop production, the level of mechanization and logistics matters. Moreover, Ethiopian Embassy representatives had the occasion to see the functioning of the logistic hub, a meeting point for wholesalers, retailers and distributors.

UNIDO ITPO Italy is currently promoting the Agro-industrial Forum among the Italian business community, with the aim of supporting the implementation of Integrated Agro-industrial park strategy, carried out by the Ethiopian government to favor the creation of an agro-industry value chain.
