Bologna, 7 June 2018. UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the international exhibition on innovation and technology SMAU, speaking at the Round Table "The agri-food sector and the innovation of excellence". SMAU is the reference event for the innovation sector in which institutions, companies and start-ups meet in order to set the basis for future collaborations.

During the Live Show, moderated by Sara Roversi of Future Food Innovation, and attended, among others, by MET, Bioletric, and Agrorobotica, UNIDO ITPO Italy illustrated its activities and ongoing projects in the field of agro-industry and food innovation, aimed at improving the quality of food safety and hygiene in Developing Countries, in particular Mozambique, West Africa and Myanmar, through the promotion of investment opportunities with a view to establishing potential commercial partnerships.

The Round Table allowed UNIDO ITPO Italy to confirm its role in the field of agribusiness: in fact, if it is usual to talk about innovative models in the agro-industrial sector only for industrialized countries, the commitment of the Office is to promote innovative ideas creating inclusive and sustainable value also for Developing Countries.
