The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) meets the Italian car sharing and e-waste operators

Milan, March 29th – Within the framework of the collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea (IMELS), UNIDO ITPO Italy supported a delegation of the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) during a three-day visit aimed at meeting the leading Italian companies belonging to shared mobility, e-waste and home appliances sectors.

LCEC delegation met the representatives of ICS (Iniziativa Car Sharing), an initiative supported and funded by IMELS aimed at coordinating the car sharing programmes existing in different Italian cities.

Moreover, the Lebanese delegation had the opportunity to meet several Italian private stakeholders in this sector, such as Enjoy, Zig Zag, Share‘n go and Go Volt.

Thanks to the collaboration with APPLiA, the Italian association of home appliances manufacturers, LCEC representatives had also the opportunity to present the project "Maximizing energy savings from energy efficient home appliances in Lebanon", funded by IMELS and aimed at increasing energy efficiency through the diffusion of advanced equipment produced by Italian manufacturers.

The mission ended with an in-depth of WEEE management, through two inspiring visits organized in collaboration with ASSORAEE.

UNIDO ITPO Italy and IMELS will follow-up this visit organizing a technical seminar in Beirut during forthcoming months, with the purpose to deepen the above mentioned sectors.
