During the 2020 edition of Ecomondo – the green technology expo, this year held online from 3 to 15 November as the Ecomondo and Key Energy Double Digital Green Week – UNIDO ITPO Italy successfully coordinated the participation of two business delegations from Iraq and Kenya, for a total of more than 30 digital B2B meetings arranged on the virtual matchmaking platform of the event. 

In this framework, representatives of eight companies – mainly operative in the field of solar energy and geothermal cooling system, equipment for water treatment and management, energy engineering, procurement and construction, transportation and logistics, and waste recycling – had the chance to actively engage with exhibitors and technology providers, promoting trade and investment opportunities, facilitating technological transfer as well as the conclusion of potential international partnerships within the energy and environment sectors.

The Iraqi and Kenyan delegations participated in the event respectively within the projects “Investment promotion for Iraq – Phase II”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, and “Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” funded by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea.

With more than 33,897 participants attending its 130 conference sessions, the Ecomondo & Key Energy Double Digital Green Week generated more than 5,000 business opportunities in the field of environmentally-friendly technologies, renewable energies and sustainable development – also paving the way for its next live session, which will be held in Rimini from 9 to 12 November 2021.
