On 8th June 2022 UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the online conference “Women for Sustainability”, organized and hosted by the OBOR Academy thanks to the OBOR Italian Institute and the RISE project (Rome Initiative Sustainable Enterprises).

In this framework, UNIDO ITPO Italy Head Ms. Diana Battaggia joined the webinar as panelist and opened the panel session, illustrating the role of UNIDO in catalyzing action to enhance gender equality and women's empowerment for a just, inclusive and equitable energy transition.

“Empowering women is central to increase the effectiveness of sustainable energy solutions, as well as to accelerate Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. As the custodian agency for the SDG 9 of the UN 2030 Agenda, we are convinced that it is essential to support female investors and entrepreneurs, highlighting the connection between gender equality and safeguarding the environment”, commented UNIDO ITPO Italy Head Ms. Diana Battaggia.
