Roundtable on Ghana’s “green” industry

Rome, 4th of February 2014.The institutional and entrepreneurial Round Table between the Ghanaian Delegate Mr. Kwasi Nkansah Baawuah, Officer of the World Trade Center in Accra, and the Italian business community was held at UNIDO ITPO Italy office.

Opened by the Director of UNIDO ITPO Italy, Mrs. Diana Battaggia, the Round Table has gathered several Italian companies and associations active in the renewable energy sector, as well as representatives of the Embassy of Ghana in Italy. Dr. Baawuah had the opportunity to present procedures and investment opportunities of his country in the renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro and biomass) and environment (water treatment and waste management sectors).

Among the sub-Saharan Africa, Ghana is one of the safest country for investments: as Dr. Baawuah said, «Ghana has reached political stability and has a sound economical politics».

UNIDO ITPO Italy, within its Environment and Energy Program in collaboration with the Italian Ministry for the Environment, hosted for one month the World Trade Center Delegate and supported him in the promotion of the projects for the "green industry” development in Ghana. The event falls within UNIDO ITPO Italy’s mandate to support the economic and industrial development in Developing Countries.
