Perugia, 13^th February 2014. UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the Country presentation "Pakistan: Land of Opportunities", organized in partnership with Confindustria Umbria and Umbria Export, in Perugia.

Italy is one of the main commercial partners of Pakistan: third importer among UE countries, after Germany and UK, and seventh on a global scale, counting on a total of investment of 790 million dollars of imports and 550 million dollar of exports. During the presentation, with the presence of H.E. the Ambassador of Pakistan in Italy, the main industrial sectors were illustrated, amongst which energy and production of textile and food industry machineries.

In this context, UNIDO ITPO Italy illustrated the UNIDO-SMEDA-Italia Programme for the creation of an Investment Promotion Unit (IPU) in Lahore.  Some investment opportunties in the auto-component sector in Pakistan were presented to the audience, as well as various instruments of business profiling, benchmarking and business matchmaking techniques which UNIDO will be implying in partnership with SMEDA in the country.
