On January 22^nd took place the Pakistan Country presentation at the Uniocamere del Veneto’s premises in Venice – Marghera. A meeting organized by Uniocamere del Veneto in collaboration with UNIDO ITPO Italy and the Embassy of Pakistan in Italy to present and discuss about the investment opportunities offered by the Asian Country. 

Do Italian companies really know the potential of Pakistan?

A country with a population of 180 million people, which offers both a lucrative consumer market as well as a well trained competent workforce?   Add to that a business friendly environment, robust economic indicators, untapped investment opportunities and a growing world class infrastructure.

The initiative aimed to provide a detailed picture of the opportunities offered by Pakistan for investment activities in the industrial, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, and learn more about the potentials for supplying consumer market products. From UNIDO ITPO Italy, Mr. Dino Fortunato, Investment Promotion Expert, illustrated the activity that UNIDO is carrying in  the framework of the “Joint UNIDO-SMEDA-Italy Programme to establish an Investment Promotion Unit (IPU) in Lahore and to facilitate increased trade and investment between Italy and Pakistan.

The event was attended by leading figures from both Pakistan and Italian business community and institutions, including, Mr. Gian Angelo Bellati, President of Unioncamere del Veneto; H.E. Tehmina Janjua, Ambassador of Pakistan in Italy, Mr. Farid Ahmad Tarar, Trade Attaché from the Embassy of Pakistan in Italy; Mr. Antonio Monesi, President of Bellelli Engineering S.p.A.; Mrs. Antonietta Poduie, International Consultant and Trainer in Multilateral  Procurement.
