Vienna, 11 October 2018. Trieste, one of the best projects of sustainable cities: this was one of the crucial outcomes of UNIDO ITPO Italy in Vienna. The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region capital, indeed, is the point of arrival of the New Silk Road thanks to the strategic position of its port.

UNIDO DG Mr. Li Yong and UNIDO ITPO Italy Ms. Diana Battaggia took part in the event and the conference saw the participation also of the Major of Trieste Mr. Roberto Dipiazza, the President of Fiuli Venezia Giulia Region Mr. Massimo Fedriga and Ms. Maria Assunta Accili, Permanent Representative of Italy for the UN in Vienna. The other projects of urban development were Shangai, Vienna and Chengdu. Hence, Bridge for Cities was a unique opportunity to promote the relationship China – Italy.

To resume, Bridge for Cities provided not only innovative ideas and solutions for a  more sustainable urban model following the Belt and Road Initiative and the Agenda 2030 for the Sustainable Development, but also a knowledge sharing between stakeholders and local investors.
