As follow-up to the Delegate Programme held online between 30 November and 14 December 2020, on 2 February UNIDO ITPO Italy furthered its assistance to the Delegate Ms. Haregewoin Mirotaw Shumiye by organizing and hosting three B2B meetings with Italian companies, with the goal of presenting several investment projects in Ethiopia and exploring innovative Italian technologies and solutions to be replicated locally.
In this framework, Ms. Shumiye met with Mr. Giuseppe D'Alessandro from Eemaxx Engineering, who illustrated the company’s solar plants and waste-to-energy systems; Mr. Antonio Scialletti from SBS - Steel Belt System, a specialized company producing also organic, mineral fertilizers for sustainable recovery of the soil; and finally Mr. Andrea Botrini from Uflex and Mr. Luca Masala from Sarda Energia, introducing the companies’ projects and activities in terms of photovoltaic, stand-alone power systems, mini grid, solar pumps, and water treatment.
All participating companies showed great interest in developing partnerships with Ethiopia in the field of energy and environment, which are key sectors for the sustainable development of the local industry and economy.
The initiative was organized within the project “Fostering International Partnership between companies and/or institutions operating in energy and environment sectors”, funded by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
