On November 12th 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy met with H.E. Mr. Marco Alberti, Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan.

The meeting - attended by Ms. Diana Battaggia, Head of UNIDO ITPO Italy, together with FIPEE Coordinator Ms. Valentina Maltese and Investment Promotion Expert for Kazakhstan Mr. Enrico Siepi - allowed UNIDO ITPO Italy to illustrate the latest activities implemented in the country within the framework of the FIPEE project, as well as to define further synergies with the Embassy of Italy in Kazakhstan so to maximize the impact of UNIDO ITPO Italy's intervention in the country.

In details, the proposal of a business mission to Kazakhstan to be organized within March 2022 has been discussed and supported by the Embassy, stressing the importance of Kazakhstan's needs in terms of development of local SMEs and the involvement of young generations into environmental issues. Furthermore, the Ambassador underlined the needs of the country in terms of optimization of the scarce water resources in relation to agriculture. In this context, the idea of a training on the use of water resources and smart agriculture has been envisaged, with the involvement of Italian excellence at academic and entrepreneurial level, so as to provide local authorities and SMEs with Italian best practices and technologies in this field for a local inclusive and sustainable development.
