Organized by UNIDO ITPO Italy in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment of Peru (MINAM) and the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition (MiTE), the webinar “Conference on Green Finance in Peru” took successfully place on Wednesday 15 December 2021.

Opening with the welcome remarks of UNIDO ITPO Italy Head Ms. Diana Battaggia, Head of Environmental Financing Department of MINAM Ms. Diana Del Águila, and Mr. Angiolo Martinelli, Director of Division III - International environmental cooperation - CRESS at MiTE, the discussion was moderated by UNIDO ITPO Italy Special Advisor for Energy and Environment in Peru Mr. Andrea Pavia.

The panel featured the participation of several experts in the field, among which: Mr. Mario Iannotti, Advisor, Energy & Environment Economist at MiTE, presenting lessons learned from green finance in Europe and its potential for application in Latin America; Ms. Greti Lucaroni, Environment Economist at MiTE, with success cases of policies on green financing implemented in Italy; Mr. Eduardo Noriega, Representative in Peru of the Banca de Inversión Sostenible, introducing success cases of the development and implementation of policies fostering green finance in countries of Latin America; and Mr. William Nonnis, Full Stack & Blockchain Developer at ENEA, offering insights on applications of blockchain technology in the management of green finance.

This initiative - concluded after an interesting Q&A session, during which the online audience had the opportunity to pose questions directly to the panelists - was organized in the framework of the project “Fostering international partnership between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” (FIPEE), funded by MiTE and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
