On Monday 6 December 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy met with the Embassy of Italy to the Kingdom of Morocco, in order to discuss together synergies for potential future activities to be implemented in the country within the framework of the FIPEE project.

Notably, the meeting featured the participation of His Excellency Armando Barucco, Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania; Mr. Federico Mozzi, First Secretary and Responsible of the Commercial Department at the Embassy of Italy in Rabat; UNIDO ITPO Italy Head Ms. Diana Battaggia and UNIDO ITPO Italy's FIPEE Coordinator Ms. Valentina Maltese and Investment Promotion Expert for Morocco Mr. Enrico Siepi; and Ms. Daniela Cosentini, Head of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Casablanca.

Special emphasis was accorded to joint initiatives to support the establishment of business relations among Moroccan and Italian companies and institutions operating in the field of environmental technologies and clean energy solutions. More into details, the discussion was aimed at illustrating the several FIPEE activities (e.g. inception mission, participation in fairs and exhibitions, study tours, etc.) already planned in Morocco for 2022, and evaluate their feasibility in light of the latest Covid-19 travel restrictions recently adopted by the Moroccan government.
